FREE with Museum Admission
Museum Lobby @ 500 Sampsonia Way
What happens when we idealize nature through technology? Inspired by Danny Bracken's installation on the lower level, this ARTLab will explore the interaction between humans, nature and technology. Visitors will have the opportunity to play with fun technology such as video, light or projectors, and interact with raw natural materials like soil, stone, plants or water.
Twice a month, on the first and third Saturdays, visitors are invited to participate in a range of art-making activities that illuminate the creative process of in-residence artists. Projects and materials are developed to complement current and ongoing exhibitions. This program is free with museum admission and highly recommended for individuals or families with children of all ages.
Mattress Factory Education and Community progams are made possible by the generous support from the Allegheny Regional Assets District, Milton & Sally Avery Arts Foundation, Jack Buncher Foundation, Sheila Fortune Foundation, Grable Foundation, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Surdna Foundation.
