How do I join or renew my membership?

You can become a member while visiting the museum, or by purchasing your membership online. You can also contact the Membership Department by calling 412.231.3169.

 

What are the benefits of my membership?

MF Members get a year of art with free gallery admission during regular museum hours. Members also get a discount in the MF Shop, the Café, event and program discounts and special invitations to members-only events. At some levels, memberships also include reciprocal privileges, private tours, and more.

 

What are reciprocal privileges?

Members at the Household Plus level and above receive reciprocal privileges for NARM, the North American Reciprocal Museum program, which gives access to free admission at nearly 900 museums and cultural institutions around the country. At the Insider level and above, members receive benefits for Mod/Co, the Modern and Contemporary Reciprocal Museum program.

 

How do members hear about museum exhibitions, programs, and events?

Members receive invitations and exhibition announcements in the mail a few times a year. Members also receive the bi-weekly email newsletter with upcoming events, programs, openings and more. The MF Calendar is also updated daily with upcoming happenings at the museum.

 

Is my membership tax deductible?

Yes! All memberships are tax-deductible, to a certain amount. When you receive your confirmation letter, it will outline the goods and services. Please save the letter for your records.

 

Who should I call to check my expiration, change my contact information, or for other general questions?

Your expiration date will be printed on the back of your membership card. You can also contact our Membership Deparment at 412.231.3169 or members@mattress.org.

 

Where can I park when I visit?

The museum has a FREE parking lot located at 505 Jacksonia Street. You can also find street parking within walking distance of the museum.

 

Can I bring guests to the MF?

Yes! We encourage members to bring guests. Insider levels and above receive guest admission privileges with EVERY visit during normal gallery hours. Check out our Member Levels + Benefits chart for more details.

 

What should I do if I lose my membership card?

Give us a call at 412.231.3169 or send us an email! We will send you a new one.

 

When will I receive my new membership cards?

You should receive your new membership cards within two weeks after your purchase or renewal.

 

Can I purchase someone a membership as a gift?

You can purchase a gift membership over the phone, online, or in person at the museum. When buying a membership online, please select the gift membership checkbox during checkout. When purchasing a gift membership at the museum, we have a special gift membership form for you to complete.

 

How do I organize a matching gift?

If you make a 100% tax-deductible donation, check with your employer to see if they will match your gift. In some cases, employers provide a form for you to fill out detailing the date and amount of the contribution. You can search for your employer online to see if your membership dues can be matched, doubling the impact of your contribution.
